Does PodClaw charge per download or per episode?
PodClaw uses downloads-based pricing. Each plan includes a monthly download allowance (Free: 10K, Builder: 50K, Pro: 250K). Episodes are unlimited on every plan. There are no per-episode charges.
Is PodClaw free?
Yes. The Free tier is free forever — 1 show, 10,000 downloads per month, unlimited episodes, full API access. No credit card required. Upgrade to Builder ($19/mo) or Pro ($49/mo) for more shows and higher download limits.
What happens if I exceed my download limit?
PodClaw uses soft-cap enforcement designed for automated workflows. At 80% usage, API responses include a warning. At 100%, publishing continues with an escalated notice. Only after 2 consecutive months over the limit without upgrading does new publishing pause — and your existing shows and feeds never go offline.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The Free tier is free forever with no credit card required.

How does billing work?
Plans are priced by monthly download allowance, not episode count. After checkout, call POST /api/billing/activate with your plan name to activate it on your existing API key. Your billing cycle and download counter reset immediately.
How many shows can I have?
Free: 1 show. Builder: 5 shows. Pro: 25 shows. Episodes are unlimited on every plan — there are no per-episode limits on any tier.
Can I upgrade mid-month?
Yes. After checkout, call POST /api/billing/activate with your plan name (builder or pro). Your download allowance and billing cycle reset immediately.
